Mino Ware 美濃焼

The Style-M plate is built around Sakuzan's Youhen glaze, the studio's original firing technique that produces unpredictable color shifts through the interplay of clay, glaze, and heat. Thick, rounded walls rise from a flat base to form a shape that sits between a plate and a shallow bowl, offering a generous, defined interior that works as naturally for a composed plate as it does for grains, vegetables, or small shared dishes.

Available in Earth Green and Earth White, each piece fires differently. Variations in tone, glaze pooling, and surface texture are inherent to the process and part of what makes each piece singular.

Care

• Hand wash only with a neutral detergent and a soft sponge or cloth. Avoid abrasive scrubbers, scouring pads, and cleansers. Dry thoroughly before storing to prevent moisture buildup, discoloration, or mold.
• Not microwave safe. Do not use over direct heat, including ovens, gas stoves, or open flame.
• Before first use, or if the piece has not been used for an extended period, soak it in rice water (or plain water) for about one hour to help fill fine pores in the clay.
  

• Crackled or crystalline glazes may temporarily shift in color when wet. This does not affect durability.
